Grand Casino Gulfport Katrina

To the southwest is the Gulfport Harbor, where you see the huge pink Copa Casino barge sitting in the parking lot that’s usually filled with trucks waiting to load bananas at the port. In Gulfport, the Harrah’s (now Caesars) Entertainment-owned Grand Casino and the privately-held Copa were combined into a single hotel-casino. But Katrina was more than a wrecking ball. Currently there is only 1 open casino in Gulfport, and that is the Island View (formerly the Copa, but on the site of the old Grand Gulfport).
